Neere unto this place lyeth the body of Robert Smith Esq sumtime citizen and draper of London and free of the famous company of Marchant Adventerers of England of which company he was twise Governour in Andwerp and Middleborough. He had two wives Thomasin the daughter of Arthur Dedicoate of Hackney in the County of Midlesex Esquier by who he had issue eleaven sonnes and sixe daughters and Susan the daughter of Sr Richard Pipe Knight and Lord Mayor of London whose body kyeth here buried by him. He was borne in this parish and being aged LXXV years departed this life the XXIII daye of March Anno DNI 1609
