Marriages at Tidmington 1693 – 1812.
Note. – The Marriages of this Parish are contained in a single parchment volume of 23 pages, measuring 11.5 by 7. 25 inches, but they are entered in a very confused and scattered manner. There are duplicates in a small paper book of those dated 1762-1773. This latter has no cover and its sheets are loose, but the former is in fair condition and has likewise entries of Baptisms 1691-1803, and Burials 1691-1801; in the transcript these duplicates are marked with a star. Many of the entries are in Latin. The living has been united to that of Shipston for some years, and this accounts for the prevalence of Shipston names in its Register Books. These extracts were made by the Rev. J. H. Bloom, with the permission of the late Rector, the Rev. J. W. Caldecot, D.D., and are printed with consent of the present Rector, the Rev. D. Lloyd, M.A., after collation with the originals. A few explanatory additions are inserted in square brackets.
