Anlaby, in the parishes of Kirk-Ella and Hessle, in Hullshire; (the seat of William Voase, Esq.) 4 ¾ miles from Hull, 8 ¼ from South-Cave, 10 from Beverley. – Pop. 271.

Anlaby formerly belonged to an ancient family of that name, the heiress of that house carried it by marriage into the family of the Legards, in the year 1100.
