Alvechurch, 5 miles from Bromsgrove, containing 207 houses, and 1228 inhabitants. The parish is 7 miles in circuit, and was formerly a market town. The church is an ancient building containing vestiges of Saxon architecture. Here is a good free grammar school, and an alms-house, founded by Nicholas Lewkner of Hadzor.
