1903 William Massey Sentenced to 4 Months Hard Labour

William Massey (87) of Worcester appeared before the Worcestershire Quarter Sessions. He was described as a gardener and was charged with stealing a watch by means of a trick. The Court heard that he had a long record of convictions dating back to 1857. The Chairman told him that had he been younger he would have been sent to long penal servitude. Massey was sentenced to four months hard labour.
