James Reynolds (28) and Joseph Sheldon (24) were charged at the Worcester Petty Sessions with being in possession of 78 pieces of counterfeit money at Holt Races on Thursday afternoon. Inspector Bromage said a complaint was received that bad money was being passed around. Suspicion soon fell on the two prisoners and, though one of them took to his heels, they were captured by two police officers on duty at Holt. The men were found to be in possession of 30 counterfeit florins and 48 half-crowns. The two men were remanded in custody to await trial.
